Position Overview
The Residential Electrical Service Technician is responsible for overseeing electrical service projects, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all codes and company standards. This role requires both hands-on electrical work and leadership of service crews, providing guidance, training, and support to apprentices and helpers while delivering exceptional service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead service technicians, apprentices, and helpers on electrical service projects.
Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain residential and commercial electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with NEC, state, and local electrical codes.
Provide technical expertise and troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
Manage job-site safety and enforce company safety policies.
Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations of work performed.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and hours worked.
Train, mentor, and evaluate junior team members to support career growth.
Coordinate with the Service Manager regarding scheduling, materials, and job progress.
Assist with estimating, job planning, and ensuring projects stay within budget.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
Journeyman or Master Electrician license (or equivalent experience if licensing is not required).
Minimum of 5 years of electrical service experience.
